Wayne D. Bierbaum, M.D.
Internal Medicine
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Bierbaum has been practicing medicine since 1982 and has been with Owensville Primary Care since 1989. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with hospital privileges at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dr. Bierbaum earned degrees from Vanderbilt University and University of Miami. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University’s Roger William Hospital.


Nancy Bryant, RN, BSN, MSN, MPA, CRNP
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Family Medicine

Nancy Bryant has been practicing medicine since 1977 and has been with Owensville Primary Care since 2000. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner earning her degrees from the The Catholic University of America and Georgetown University. She retired as a career Naval Officer in the United States Navy Nurse Corps.


Ann Hendon, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant

Ann Hendon joined Owensville Primary Care in October 2013. She is a graduate of Anne Arundel Community College’s Physician Assistant program and obtained her Master of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University in 2008. She was previously at Medstar Harbor Hospital’s Department of Surgery where she was practicing in general surgery and several multidisciplinary surgical subspecialties. Prior to this, she worked as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist for 20 years providing diagnostic and treatment services to people with communications, cognitive and swallowing disorders.


Jonathan J Hennessee, DO
Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Hennessee is Board Certified in Family Medicine and National Health Service Corps Scholar. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona California in 2010. Subsequently he trained at NH Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Concord, NH where he was elected by his peers to Chief Resident in his final year. In 2013 he was awarded New Hampshire Academy of Family Medicine Resident of the year. After Residency, Dr. Hennessee worked at Chase Brexton Health Services for 2 years before becoming a full time physician here at Owensville Primary Care. Dr. Hennessee practices the full age spectrum of family medicine, from birth to geriatrics all in between. He incorporates office based procedures, preventative medicine and principals of Osteopathy into the comprehensive care he provides his patients.

Thomas Sheesley, D.O.
Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Sheesley joined our health center July 2015. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Dr. Sheesley attended Medical School at the University Of New England College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME. He then completed his training in Family Medicine at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

Jana Raup, Ph.D., LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Director of Behavioral Health

Jana Raup has been a licensed, practicing mental health professional since 1988. She has worked with patients and staff of OPC since 2002, and in 2013 was hired by OPC to develop the Behavioral Health program. Dr. Raup continues to serve as both Director of Behavioral Health and as an OPC therapist. She provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults and primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques. Her approach is very interactive with both therapist and client as active participants. Dr. Raup earned her doctorate in mental health counseling from the University of Florida and holds Masters degrees from Towson University and The Johns Hopkins University. She also has advanced training in clinical counseling and therapy from Johns Hopkins and rehabilitation counseling from Ohio University.


Jen Thornton, LCSW-C
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Jen Thornton joined Owensville Primary Care’s Behavioral Health department in April 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Family Studies from Towson University, as well as a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work – with a focus on children and families. Ms. Thornton is experienced in many aspects of the mental health field, including inpatient, outpatient, school based services and case management. She provides individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults.  Ms. Thornton works from a strengths-based approach and uses a mix of styles to meet clients individual goals and needs.
